So I have an ever-so-talented friend named Leslie from college that has since become a successful Optometrist, a loving wife and the mother of two lovely children. Leslie has always been a really creative individual. In fact, she was my Big Sister in my sorority at the University of Delaware, and during my days as a pledge, in particular “big week,” soon to be sisters are showered with gifts and crafty clues from their chosen Big Sister, only to be revealed during a lavish ceremony at the end of this fabulously opulent week.
Turned out Leslie was my incognito Big Sister in the making, and boy did she do an excellent job of spoiling me rotten with gifts, decorations and a memorable experience that will last with me forever, no doubt due to her creative presentation and thoughtful preparation.
Well, Leslie it turns out has added a new activity to her crowded resume with the start of her incredibly adorable children’s clothing line, available at her online Etsy store, Annabear Studios named after her first born girl. And this venture is completely in keeping with Leslie’s excellent eye for detail and quality.
Since discovering this gem of a site, I have been imploring Leslie to stretch her creative muscles and add some cute little foodie themed items to her handmade repertoire. She wholeheartedly agreed that she would love to do the same, and the day is here that her first item is available from her collection celebrating food with the introduction of her line of ice cream cone themed outfits and onsies. And these creations aren’t just fashionable duds for your little ones, but they also benefit a wonderful cause.
As Leslie explains, this ice cream cone applique is made from corduroy and upcycled hawaii print shirts, so they are environmentally responsible. But more importantly, the design was inspired by her good friend Scott’s love for ice cream and all things Hawaii.
Scott was a special friend to Leslie and a great man who lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma this past December. Since that time his close friends and family have continued to grow a non-profit he started which is now called- The Scott Craun Foundation.
Scott wanted to provide a nursing scholarship for a nurse in training in Hawaii, as well as have funds available to help people with Multiple Myeloma travel to the states for their treatments.
He also loved ice cream, and encouraged those closest to him to indulge in ice cream to keep his spirits high and now to remember the great person he was.
Please help Leslie to share these impossibly cute designs, and raise funds for a very worthy cause, “Cones for Craun.”
Proceeds from this tee go to the Scott Craun Foundation – a great cause helping nurses in Hawaii and patients suffering from Multiple Myeloma in Hawaii get the treatments needed to save their lives.
