So, I have to give credit on this discovery to my friend and fellow blogger French Twist DC, but this event sounds like so much fun that I needed to share the wealth.
We all know Halloween is approaching quickly, and I have my plan to carve my very own pumpkin this weekend. But, lets just say that pumpkins aren’t really your thing. What then? Well, I will tell you! You can join Paul Bakery at their newest location in Georgetown, DC and carve a massive three pound loaf of bread into your very own Jacques-O-Lantern, a nod to the bakery’s French roots.
The details, via French Twist:
For just $15, you and a child can attend one of PAUL’s two upcoming bread carving session, which will take place at the soon-to-be-opened Paul Bakery in Georgetown (yay!) on October 22nd (10AM-12PM and October 29th 10AM-12PM). I’m pretty sure a loaf of bread that size alone is probably worth $15 and once you’re done with your carving you can take it home and use it as table decoration! Or eat it 😉 At the end of the session, you’ll also get a bag with the crumb of the hallowed out loaf, which is perfect for making croutons, panzanella salad or even a pumpkin bread pudding. Miam! Anyhoo, space is limited so if you’re interested, reserve a spot early by emailing paulb03@paul-usa.com.
And, do yourself a solid and follow @FrenchTwistDC (the mademoiselle about town) on Twitter for more fun, upcoming events!

Bonjour!
I’m the publicist for PAUL, and would love if you’d make a correction on the email address for people who want to attend the event… It’s actually paulb03@paul-usa.com, and we’re asking people to stipulate which day they want to attend! Merci beaucoup! 🙂
